Dr. Ronald Paton Lane, 87, of Griffin, died Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Barclay House Memory Care of Carrollton. Dr. Lane was born, October 11, 1937, in Butts County, to the late Robert Homer Lane and Ada Margaret Weaver Lane. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Dean Lane. Dr. Lane was a 1955 graduate of Jackson High School. After graduation he planned to be a farmer, but after several years he decided to go to college. In 1961 he graduated from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and then the University of Georgia where he received a BS degree in 1963 and a Master's degree in Horticulture in 1964. Janet Louise Rupp Langley, 85, of Griffin, widow of Herbert C. Langley, died Monday, November 25, 2024, at Brightmoor Assisted Living. Born in Decatur, IL, June 10, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Wilma Mae Hall Rupp. Mrs. Langley was retired after over twenty years of service as a teacher at Babb Junior High School in Forest Park. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. The family is sad to announce the passing of Sue Blanton Kennedy, who died at the age of 71, on June 3, 2023 in Fernandina Beach, Florida surrounded by family. She was a resident of Evans, Georgia, but had previously lived for many years in Columbia, South Carolina. Born in Powder Springs, February 1, 1936, she was a daughter of Guy Maxwell and Gorgianna Arnold Waldon.
