Born on March 13, 1927, in Allensville, PA, he was the son of the late Jacob J. and Annie Lizzie Peachey. David attended Allensville Public School. He was baptized upon his confession of faith in his youth; and was a faithful member of the Gortner Amish Church. He was well known for his reverence for God, trust in the Lord Jesus, and the delight he had in reading God's Word. Paul W. "Sunshine" Shogren, 94, of Oakland, MD, passed away on January 16, 2024, at Cherry Hill Assisted Living. Born on May 30, 1929, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Paul W. Shogren, Sr. and Gertrude (Curry) Shogren. Paul obtained his B.S. in Forestry in 1951 from Penn State University. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, and served in Korea during the war. He subsequently served 18 years in the Army Reserves and National Guard. Toney was born on April 2, 1931 -- he joked that he would have been an April Fool's baby but it was snowing too hard and the doctor couldn't get up the hill.
