Alamo - Daniel "The Legend" Hinojosa, Sr. passed away August 20, 2021. He was 88. Daniel was born on March 13, 1933 in Live Oak County, Texas to Juanita (Luna) and Jacinto Hinojosa. Daniel resided in Alamo since 1984. Daniel was a retired Foreman employed by Pike Electric. The love of his job took him to various cities. He lived in St. Paul, Bandera and Luling...to name a few. He married Juanita Maldonado almost 43 years ago. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. Jolane Gerdes Wells, dedicated nurse and mother of four, passed away peacefully on December 17th, 2018, in Birmingham, AL, at the age of 80. Jolane was born on September 4, 1938 in Sinton, TX, to Roger and Mildred (Sullivan) Gerdes Sr. She was the third of their eleven children. After graduating from Sinton High School, Jolane studied nursing at Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi, TX. Her education was interrupted when she married in 1959. As a military wife, she spent years traveling the world and raising a family on the move. When her children were older, she decided to go back to school. She received her RN degree from Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Omaha Nebraska...

Taft - Ruie Slinger Carroll, 82, died June 28, 2018 after a stroke. Ruie was a proud TCU Alumni. In her 40's, she obtained a Masters in Social Work from OLLU. She had a lifelong passion for South Texas' Hospice and the Home Health Industry for the elderly. Ruie was also active in the IORG which instilled her history in the Masonic family and Eastern Star membership.
