Mr. Lingerfelt was born in Chattanooga, TN on November 26, 1946, son of the late Thomas Eugene Lingerfelt and the late Sarah Evenlyn Howell Lingerfelt. He was a graduate of Berry College, which he loved and supported his entire life. Mr. Lingerfelt began his working career teaching and coaching at East Rome High School. He coached football, boys and girls basketball, and track while at East Rome High School, which he continued in later years supporting other schools in Rome.
