He graduated from The New Orleans Academy (NOA,) Louisiana State University, and LSU School of Medicine. Later he earned a Masters degree in Human Development from the University of Kansas. After serving in the US Army at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL, he worked for IBM for over 25 years until his retirement.
