Jackie Pettite Brookins, 71, of St. Simons Island passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Hospice of the Golden Isles. Formerly of College Park, Savannah, and Midway, Jackie was the mother of Eddie Roberts (Allyson) of St. Simons Island and Melanie Roberts (Chris Arendall) of Richmond Hill. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home beginning at 11:30 am. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:30 am. Having fought the good fight and having kept the faith for 94 years, 8 months, and 9 days, Lamar Thaxter Webb finished the race on Monday, May 22, 2023, following a very brief illness. An iconic member of the Glynn County community for over 60 years, Lamar was born the 2nd of twin sons to Ethel and Eugene Webb of Hapeville (the situs of Hartsfield Jackson International Airport), Fulton County, Georgia. Patricia Ann Janicki Sodano, 76, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Golden Isles Hospice in Brunswick, GA. Born in Scranton, PA, to Chester and Ann Janicki, she was a 1963 graduate of South Scranton Catholic High School. For several years after graduation, she worked for Allied Services in Scranton. In 1979, she married her high school sweetheart, Bob Sodano. She and Bob raised their two beautiful daughters in Moscow, PA, before retiring to Jacksonville, FL, then Brunswick four years ago. Jody was born on May 4, 1938 in Columbia, South Carolina to Jo Smith Webb and The Honorable Judge Julian Webb, Presiding Judge Georgia Court of Appeals and President Pro Tem of the Georgia Senate (1967-1969).
