Wallace Sherman Fuchs passed away quietly on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was 90 years old. Wallace Sherman (he was called Wally by some, and Sherman by others) was born April 18, 1934 in a farmhouse in Hancock County, Kentucky, near Hawesville to Wallace Earl and Bernice (Adkins) Fuchs. He was the oldest of two children, the younger child being his brother Preston. Wallace Sherman married Sadie Mae Brandle on October 30, 1954, in Hawesville, Kentucky. Roger D. Mitchell, 96, of Greenfield, passed away on August 12, 2024. He was born on January 17, 1928, in Eureka, Illinois to Roger and Ellen (Hughes) Mitchell. He was a graduate of Eureka High School and earned his higher education from Eureka College. Roger served in the United States Army as a Sargent in Korea for 2 years. Dick was the owner and operator of Champion Racing Engines in McCordsville for over 50 years. Drag racing was Dick's passion. He was born June 22, 1932, in Bath, Kentucky to James Robert and Mallie (Amburgey) Collins and was one of 23 children. Eleck was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the time of the Korean War.
