Gerald Ivar Williams went to his heavenly home on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023 at age 96. Jerry donated his body to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program. A memorial service is planned for Dec. 29 at 11 AM at Bethel Lutheran Church in Northfield with visitation at 10 AM and a luncheon to follow the service. Stanley Henry Schuette, age 93, of Northfield and formally of Plato, Minnesota and Staples Minnesota, passed away Wednesday evening, November 29 at his home. Erland David Anderson was born September 6, 1940, in Duluth, Minnesota, to Victor E. and Louise C. (Bratschi) Anderson. He was raised in Duluth and graduated from East High School in 1958. Marvin H. Christensen, age 85 of Northfield, passed away on Sunday, November 19 at the Apple Valley Village Healthcare Center. Marvin was born on June 4, 1938 near Elko, MN, the son of Henry and Myrtle (Johnson) Christensen. Marvin was raised briefly near Elko New Market before his parents relocated to what would be known as the Christensen Farm near Castle Rock; he attended country day school before moving onto Northfield high school. Hilbert Norman Reese was born January 20, 1932, in Goodhue, Minnesota, to Arthur and Amanda (Lohmeyer) Reese, Sr. He was raised on the family farm, attended St. John's Lutheran Parochial School and graduated from Goodhue High School in 1949. She was born in St. Paul, MN where she attended St. Joseph Academy and later graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing. She married James Hamilton Miner in 1959 and together they raised a family of 6 children in Cottage Grove. It was a house of love, daily chaos, and adventure whenever Mom was at the helm. Beverly Joan Weyer (Joanie), age 88, recently of Northfield, died Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Trinity Care Center in Farmington. Joanie was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana, and moved to Northfield in 2014 to be close to family. She enjoyed frequent worldwide cruises with her brother Jack K. Varner (d. 2018) and was an avid, winning Bingo player. She enjoyed Las Vegas and local casinos and adored Elvis Presley, her favorite to the very end. Joanie had an artistic flair for crafts: she loved decorating clothes, making ornaments (including miniature illuminated Christmas trees), creating beautiful watercolor notecards, collecting cookbooks. Marlene Edna Ellingson, 63, passed away unexpectedly Monday October 30th, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester MN. Marlene was born 12/03/1959 to Maurice Sr and Irene Kleve (Smith) in Hastings MN. She grew up on the family farm in Dundas MN where she developed a love for art and horses. After graduating from Northfield High School in 1978 she had various jobs, including Merillate Industries where she met her first husband, Kraig, and made lifelong friends in the "Merillate Girls". After settling in Northfield, and the birth of her children, she started her 30 year career in childcare, retiring in 2017. Tina Marie Schultz was born on May 21, 1984, in Minneapolis, to Jerry Vasquez and Tracy Schultz. She was raised in Apple Valley and graduated from Randolph High School.
