Elizabeth Ann Deiss passed away peacefully April 30, 2025 at her Galveston home. She was born July 11, 1936 in Houston to Louis and Elizabeth Matson. She liked to claim to be a BOI, since she was Baptized on the Island where extended family lived there and had lived since before 1900. Elizabeth worked in the family business before her real estate career at The House Company. She married Dr. William P Deiss in June 1981 and they enjoyed 36 years together before his passing. Bill Rider of Galveston TX was born on June 26, 1933 in Garwin, Iowa to Ferne (n?e Duncan) and Harold R. Rider. He passed away in the afternoon of April 29, 2025 feeling the love of family and friends surrounding him. Bill grew up in the small farming town of Garwin Iowa with a population of 450. The small-town sense of family and community would stick with him for the rest of his life. Bill always said that his biggest influence in childhood was working alongside his dad at the Garwin General Store and Grocery. Roland was born December 6, 1938, to parents Cecil Emerson Bassett, Jr. and Opal Alvina Baltz in Council Grove, Kansas and lived in Mexico, Nebraska and Louisiana before choosing Galveston as his home. Deborah Marie Mendez Gani, age 70, passed away Monday, December 30, 2024 at HCA Clear Lake Regional in Webster, Texas. She was born on November 14, 1954 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is survived by her husband Roland P. Gani; daughter April Gani; grandchildren Valencia Gani-Shotts, Trinity Burton and Havana Mendez-Barragan; and her brother Nathaniel Mendez.
