On Sunday, October 1, 2023 Orilla Jean (Cheverier) Brunelle, after a period of declining health, passed away peacefully at Baystate Springfield Hospital with her loving husband Dennis Brunelle and daughter Tina Newton by her side. Orilla was born on January 24, 1950 in Keene NH to Joseph N and Mary E (Parker) Cheverier. Orilla could always brighten up a room with her smile, laughter and unending love and kindness. Spending time with her family was her greatest joy. At holiday gatherings (when her children were young) she loved to entertain them and their cousins with her little skits. Leslie J. Kujala, 90, of Thirteenth St. died Monday August 14, 2023 at Greenfield Rehab in Greenfield. He was born in Negaunee, MI January 10, 1933 the son of Jalmer and Lillian (Jutila) Kujala. Leslie attended local school there. He enlisted in the US NAVY. He was stationed aboard the USS Ticonderoga and cruised the world. Leslie was a clerk for the Turners Falls Water Dept then went on to Strathmore Paper and retired from C & S Grocers. He was a Life Member of The Moose where he enjoyed many activities, deep sea fishing and trips to the casinos, and spending time with his sister Marlene in Michigan. Peggy J. Clark-Penny, 71, of Linda Lane passed away Sunday (11-6-22) at home. She was born October 24, 1951 in Middlebury VT the daughter of Kenneth and Dorothy (Sartwell) Clark. Peggy attended Greenfield schools. She had her own cleaning business for many years and had many wonderful clients. Peggy also worked for Richard Todrin at Flavorful Sprouts which grew sprouts hydroponically. She enjoyed antiquing, decorating, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Edmond L. Lachapelle, 91, died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at Hospice of the Fisher Home, in Amherst, MA. He was born in North Adams, MA, on August 23, 1929. He was the son of Ferrier and Beatrice (Babeu) Lachapelle. Edmond was an amazing and intelligent man and left an unforgettable imprint upon those whom he touched. Alma M. (Connelley) Garcia, 100, of The Arbors died Thursday 4/1/21 at home. She was born in Buckland on May 2, 1920, the daughter of Frederick and Anna (Anderson) Connelley. Alma grew up in Buckland, attended Crittenden Grammar School and was a graduate of Arms Academy, Class of 1938. Alma was married to John P. Garcia on May 3, 1941. They were married seventy three years when John passed in 2014. Alma worked in many retail stores in Greenfield before taking a clerical position with Pioneer Valley Cablevision in 1965. Dorothy was born in Greenfield on April 20, 1930, the daughter of Harold Wright and Olive (Hull) Phillips. She attended Greenfield schools, graduating in 1948. She lived in Greenfield for many years, moving to Bernardston Country Estates in 1988. She has been a resident of Buckley Healthcare Center for the last few years.
