Brian J. McCarthy, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 27, 2021. He was born on April 17, 1939, in Meriden, CT, the son of Edward and Claire (LaCroix) McCarthy. Brian had a career in real estate and insurance until his retirement. He was an avid boater and was happiest on the water. He is survived by his children: Ann McCarthy Hackney, Christine McCarthy, and Joseph McCarthy, and their families, as well as his sister Sheila Sale. "Once more on the deck I stand, of my own swift-gliding craft: Set sail! Farewell to the land! The gale follows fair abaft." A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
