Joan Berdick, age 97, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2023. Joan was born on January 27, 1926 and resided in Branford for almost 60 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Murray Berdick. She is survived by her daughter, Dena (John) Gattilia, grandchildren, Brighid (Tyler) Timek, Cili Cosgrove, Jennifer (Benjamin) Tibbetts, Anne Gattilia, and great grandson, Lucas Timek. She was also "Bonus Mom" to many others. Joan graduated from Smith College in 1947 with a degree in Chemistry and worked at Rockefeller University in New York City before moving to Branford.
