Oredia Carlene Harmon Whitaker, 90, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025. Oredia was born in Esto, Russell County, Kentucky on March 15, 1934. She was preceded in death by her parents: Claude and Josie Zimmerman Harmon and her brother Lynn Harmon. She is survived by her sister-in-law: Shirley Harmon and nieces: Jo Robbins (Gene) and Fran Poropatic (Steve) and two great nephews: Nick Robbins (Kirsten) and Michael Poropatic. Born in Lexington, North Carolina, Jerry was the son of Luther Odell Johnson and Lena Koontz. He graduated from North Davidson High School and went on to earn his degree from Wake Forest University. In 1955, Jerry and Nancy married and moved to Charlotte in 1967, to build a life together.
