Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Edna Marie Kelly, 71, of Rome, was called home on December 4, 2023 after living with multiple myeloma for nearly a decade. Born June 15, 1952, she was a lifelong resident of Rome. She attended high school at St. Anne's in Albany and later became a certified nurse's aide. Edna worked for two decades in local nursing homes and in home health care. During this time, she raised her three children as a single parent - instilling a strong work ethic and encouraging them to dream big. Marie was born on June 30, 1947 in Newton, NJ to the late Harold and Flora (Covello) Clayton. She graduated from Newton High School in 1965. Shortly after graduation, she married the love of her life, Philip Van Orden, with whom they shared 43 years of marriage together. Maryann Aley, 82, of Lee Center, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Wynn Hospital in Utica. She was born in Verona on July 18, 1941, a daughter of the late John and Caroline (Twiss) Sharp. Maryann enjoyed crafting and baking. She loved to watch old westerns and the Price is Right. What she was most fond of though was spending time with her family. Paul A. Telesco, Sr., 74, of Rome, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at St. Luke's Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New Hartford following complications from heart surgery in September. Born in Rome on April 4, 1949, he was a son of the late Anthony and Rose Marie (Mondo) Telesco. He was a 1968 graduate of Rome Free Academy. He was a volunteer with the Civil Air Patrol and had a life-long interest in aviation and astronomy. He worked at White Eagle Bakery as an expert donut maker. Matthew J. Wagner, 55, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at SUNY Upstate Medical Center. He was born in Rome on August 1, 1968, a son of the late James and Leona (Streiff) Wagner. Matthew loved to play the guitar and go camping. He is survived by three sisters, Lisa Lahti (David), Valerie Finster (Brad) and Rose Anger (Ake); and several nieces and nephews.
