Patricia Ann Gray, age 80, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 11, 2021. She was born July 12, 1940 in Jacksonville, Florida to Charles Locke and Mary Katherine (Mackey) Spears. After attending Tennessee Temple Bible School, she began missionary work in Costa Rica in 1963 along side her husband. In 1971, they moved to the Valley and began work at Camp Loma de Vida. Mrs. Gray loved working and doing crafts with children and teaching Sunday School at Iglesia Bautista de la Esperanza. She also worked in the library at Edinburg High School from 1973 to 1983 and in the library at UTRGV (PanAm) from 1994 to 2007. Cosme Velasquez, age 92, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at his home in La Blanca, Texas, surrounded by his family. He was born September 27, 1928 in Combes, Texas to Nicolas and Juanita Velasquez. He is survived by his children; Hermelinda Vargas (Ezequiel), Diana Velasquez, Alice Velasquez and Cosme Velasquez, Jr.; and 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Cosme was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita and his sons, Jose and Antonio. A private Funeral Service will be held on October 19, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at La Blanca Funeral Home. Burial will follow immediately after at La Blanca Cemetery.
