Randy Allan Peters passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024, at the age of 58. Randy was born in Johnson City, TN and also lived in Lexington, KY, Apalachicola, FL and Morganton, NC. He was married to Carolyn Peters for 25 years, and they have remained best friends. Randy loved animals, playing guitar, obscure music and books, the ocean, and preparing incredible meals. His wry sense of humor and sharp wit endeared him to many. He will be deeply missed. He preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Peters. Ms. Harris was born on July 1, 1940, in Burke County, a daughter of the late Ellen C. and C.M. Harris. She was a faithful supporter of Seaside Methodist Church in Ocean Isle, NC. Verlie Wade Brittain, 86, of Valdese, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Amorem Hospice following a period of declining health. Verlie was born March 20, 1938 in George Hildebrand to the late Fred and Georgia Brittain, as their eleventh child. Verlie loved bowling and playing golf with his friends.
