He was born Dec. 15, 1926 in St. Petersburg to Bernice L Gifford and George R Lincoln, Sr. He married Betty L Lincoln on June 19, 1948 in St. Petersburg. After the Navy, he began his career as a general contractor. He started his final construction company, Lincoln Construction, Inc in 1976, and with his son, Gary joining him, he continued working until he retired at age 79.
