Alice Pauline "Polly" Withers Bloom was born in Harlingen, Texas, on October 10, 1929, to Hetti Alice and Alonzo Thomas Withers. Polly attended Stuart Place School through 8th grade, then moved with her parents to Kerrville, Texas, and graduated from Tivy High School in 1946. She attended Durham Business School in Austin and returned to Harlingen in 1947 to work at First National Bank of Harlingen, which later became Bank of America. She retired from Bank of America in 1993. Her working career started out as a bank teller and throughout the years advanced to the position as an executive assistant for Col. Robert "Bob" Wold, 87, passed away peacefully at his home in Harlingen, Texas surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 27. Bob was born in Aitkin, MN to Ernest and Margaret Wold. He graduated from Aitkin High School in 1956 and enlisted in the Navy at 18. He served on the USS Kretchmer 329 on the Dew Line during the Cold War.
