Maria was born October 16, 1930, to Amelia Trevino Villarreal and Crispin Villarreal of McAllen, Texas. Maria had a small business in Donna, Texas for 45 years. Maria is preceded in death by her husband Pablo Santos and beloved son Daniel Omar Canales and her sisters Rosa V. Quintanilla (Concepcion (Chon)) and Tomasa V. It is with great sorrow and sadness to announce the passing of our beloved mother Olivia Chapa Longoria. Olivia was born on October 2, 1943 and went to be with the lord on October 1, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents Viterbo & Homogonia Chapa; her husband of 57 years Elijio Longoria; and her oldest grandson, Gabriel Alejandro Granado. Olivia is survived by her children, Alma Longoria, Delia (Sal) Granado, Daniel (Nydia) Longoria & Lee (Doris) Longoria. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was a wonderful mom who dedicated her life to her children and was always there when we needed her. Eudocio Matias Garcia (2/24/1933-8/2/2023) Eudocio (Ed) Garcia went to be with our Lord on August 2, 2023. Ed was born February 24, 1933, to Eudocio and Salome (Mu?oz) Garcia. The second of five children, he was raised?along with his siblings Leonel, Humberto, Estella, and Hector?in Rio Grande City. He later was drafted into the U.S. Army and stationed in Munich, Germany, and Fort Polk, Louisiana, before returning home and marrying his high-school sweetheart, Azucena (Susie) Elizondo, on August 11, 1956. His parents Abel and Fidela Elizondo and his son Jorge Elizondo precede him in death. Baldemar is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years Natividad Elizondo. He leaves behind five children, Baldemar Elizondo, Belinda Heraty, Rene Elizondo, Veronica Osvaldo, Abel Elizondo, and seven grandchildren. JOAQUIN SALINAS, 86, of Mission, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. He was born on August 2, 1936, in McAllen, Texas, to Adelaida G. Salinas and Salvador Salinas. Joaquin enlisted in the United States Army in 1956. He served in Korea twice, three tours in Germany, state-side (Georgia, Virginia), and retired in the Rio Grande Valley in 1976.
