Born to John and Catherine Addington of Toccoa, Georgia, Beverly attended North Georgia Junior College and the University of Georgia, where she earned her bachelor's degree in early education. She married Kenneth Albert Miller, Jr, on December 17, 1972. She raised two daughters, Missy and Angie, until returning to the classroom to teach. Jerry was born December 25, 1937, in Acworth, Georgia to Fred Hansard and Estelle Blackwell Hansard. He graduated from Osborne High School and later obtained a Mechanical Engineering degree from Southern Tech. He worked and retired from Lockheed and went on to work for Fox Fence.
