Dorothy Lee Proctor, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. Born in Nash County, NC on August 23,1936, she was the daughter of the late Walter Thomas Hales and Bessie Herring Hales. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William Edward Proctor, with 23 years of active military service, and her brother, William Hales "Billy". Dorothy enjoyed painting portraits. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Dorothy and her grandson Jeffery had a special bond, and he was her eyeball.
