She was born on July 9, 1935 in Dekalb County, AL to Isaac Wesley Dowdy and Lena Madora Powell Dowdy, both deceased. Grace is a life- long Christian and was baptized by her father, a Baptist minister, at an early age. She has been an active participant in her Churches throughout life and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She is currently a member of the Love Bridge Church in Austell, Georgia. William Marcell Speed, affectionately known as "Bill" or "Speed," departed this life on December 25, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and cultural impact. A funeral service honoring Bill's life will be held Saturday, January 4, 1:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. She was born in Rome, Georgia in 1934 and moved to Marietta Georgia in 1962 where she raised her family. Carolyn was an avid reader with a great sense of humor who never met a stranger. Karl Davis Swain, 85, a longtime resident of Carmel, Indiana, died on December 16, 2024, in Powder Spring, Georgia. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 5, 1939, to the late Huber and Mary Eunice (Davis) Swain of Lizton, Indiana. Karl graduated Valedictorian from Lizton High School in 1957. He then joined the US Army and was stationed at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska. After the Army, he attended Indiana University, Bloomington, where he met his future wife, Charlotte. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business from IU in 1964. He and Charlotte were married on June 19, 1965. Captain Wilbur Edward Radford, Sr., a devoted family man and member of his community, passed away December 15, 2024 at the age of 89. Wilbur was born to A.D. Radford and Inez Radford (nee Hines) in Warwick, GA. After graduating from high school, Wilbur enrolled at Georgia Tech in their ROTC program. In 1958, he graduated from Tech with a degree in Industrial Engineering. His completion of the ROTC program prepared him to join the United States Army, in which he spent 3 1/2 years serving his country. Brian Richard Willingham of Powder Springs passed away December 10, 2024. He was born in Powder Springs in 1956. Brian graduated from Osborne High School, Class of '74. Brian retired from Lockheed-Martin in Marietta, GA, as did his mother and father. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by brothers, Biff and Rusty Willingham; nieces, Joyce Van Meel, Tara Rogers, and Nikki Hall; and nephews, Andrew Willingham, Adam Willingham, and Alex Willingham. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Norma Willingham, and younger brother, Leslie Willingham. Per Brian's request there will be no service and his remains will be cremated.

Long time Grand Rapids resident Dale Eugene Lamps, age 81, died on August 1 in Marietta, GA. Dale was born in LaSalle, IL to Forrest and Pauline (Stremlau) Lamps, graduated from Notre Dame and worked at Deloitte as an actuary and at Grand Valley State as an adjunct professor of statistics. Dale was most proud of his service on the Michigan Catholic Conference Pension Board. Dale and Dottie (Vara) married in 1965 and moved to Grand Rapids in 1973.
