Marsha was born in Cartersville, Georgia, on January 30, 1950, to the late Frances Reece and Robert Lee Rogers. She grew up alongside her two sisters and brother in Royston, Georgia. She attended Franklin County High School and later Georgia Southern University, where she met the love of her life, Jerome "Jet" Henson III. He was able to leave his rehab center and go to his home for his long anticipated 95th birthday celebration.
