Jimmie English passed away peacefully at her home in Meadowlakes, Texas on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. She was 92. She was born Jimmie Ruth Galloway in Skidmore, Texas, on December 6, 1931, to Berta Ione Lloyd Galloway and Frank Vernon Galloway. She graduated valedictorian of Lytle High School class of 1950 in Lytle, Texas, and received a scholarship to study journalism at Hardin Simmons University in Abilene. Jimmie moved to Abilene the summer before classes started, but her plans changed when she met and fell in love with Jack English. Our beloved mom, grandma, aunt and friend took her final breath on September 21, 2024 and has now joined so many family and friends in Heaven. Her faith in the Lord always shined through and taught everyone around her what faith can do. Eleanor Helmann, of Sunrise Beach, TX, passed away August 25, 2024 at a local nursing facility. She was born October 17, 1924 in Portage, Wisconsin. After nursing school, Eleanor joined the Nurse Cadet program and served six months active duty in the States during World War II. She then worked as a surgical nurse in civilian hospitals before joining an Army military unit and called to active duty in 1953. Eleanor was assigned to Basic training at Ft.
