Thomas W. Henderson Jr., 81, of Travelers Rest passed away on June 9, 2023. Born in Aiken, SC, he was the son of the late T. Wells Henderson and Christine Penn Henderson. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ellen Horton Henderson, children Wells Henderson (Sarah) and Christine Tiller (Jerry); grandchildren Kingston Tiller and McKinley Henderson; his sister Penn Dean of Landrum. Tom served with the U. S. Army Fifth Special Forces Group (Airborne) including a tour in Vietnam during the 1968 Tet Offensive. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Corrie Thompson Malone and widow of Richard Wentworth Turnage. She was a retired school teacher. A lifelong Episcopalian, Joan was active in the Daughters of the King. Both she and her husband worked with De Colores and Kairos. She is survived by a daughter, Anne Pierce of Campobello; 2 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
