He was born on March 8, 1925, in New Alsace, Indiana, the son of John and Leona (Easley) Knueven. Joe attended Guilford High School in Dearborn County. After graduation, Joe served his country in the United States Army. A World War II veteran, Joe served during key moments like Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. After a courageous four-year battle with cancer, Susan K. Shaw Peters passed away peacefully at home on July 27, 2023, with her husband, Eugene, by her side. Susan was born February 18, 1958, the youngest child of Robert F. and Rita Elvera (Hoene) Shaw. She attended St. Mary's Grade School and graduated from Greensburg High School in 1976.
