Wilfred Bradley Smith, Jr., age 88, of St. Simons Island, Georgia passed away peacefully on April 22, 2022. He was born on August 28, 1933 in Laurens County, South Carolina and was raised in Alma, Georgia. He was the son of Wilfred Bradley Smith, Sr. and Pairly Abercrombie Smith. Wilfred graduated from Bacon County High School in 1950 and remained very active with the graduating class over the years. He attended Georgia Institute of Technology and graduated with a degree in Industrial Management. Judith "Judy" Smith, age 86, of St. Simons Island, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 after an extended illness. She was born in Bacon County on March 15, 1934 to Johnie Clinton Tyre and Billie Louisa Padgett Tyre. Judy was the valedictorian of the class of 1950 at Bacon County High School. She attended Valdosta State College where she received her degree in Elementary Education. She completed her Master's degree in Early Childhood Education and her Specialist's degree at Georgia Southwestern College in Americas, GA. Judge Braswell Drue Deen, Jr., age 95, passed away December 24, 2020. Braswell was the son of the late U.S. Congressman Braswell Deen, Sr., and Corinne Smith Deen. Braswell graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor of laws degree; practiced law in Alma Georgia and served as county attorney; served four terms in the Georgia General Assembly and authored the Women's Juror bill; was appointed in 1965 by Governor Carl E. Sanders as Judge of the Georgia Court of Appeals where he served until retiring in 1990.
