Virginia Jean Ryerson was born February 18, 1923 in Monticello, Illinois to Frank and Lelia Lux. She attended school at Bement Township from grade school through high school. As a freshman, Virginia attended Illinois State College and then transferred to Barry College Business School. After graduating she worked for the University of Illinois. On April 15, 1944, Virginia married Donald Ryerson in Neosha, Missouri where Don was stationed at Camp Crowder. While Don was overseas, Virginia worked as a secretary at State Farm Insurance. After his return, they moved to Bozeman, Montana so Don could finish his Agriculture degree. Their daughter, Donna Jean was born during that time. The family...
