Beverly "Bev" Ann Slattery Hartford, 78, passed away peacefully at her home in Bloomington, Indiana on June 13, 2021. Born in Lynn, MA on September 15, 1942, she grew up in Standish, Maine. Bev was predeceased by her parents, Erma (Hartford) and Harry E. Slattery and her infant sister, Edith, of Standish. As the valedictorian of the last graduating class of Standish High School in 1960, she went on to receive her B. A. from Boston University in 1964, her M.A. from Kansas State University (Manhattan) in 1967, and her Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Texas at Austin in 1975. Norman Arthur Ladd was born on September 3, 1952 in Rochester, New York, to Norman Bliss Ladd, Sr., and Patricia (Dealy) Ladd-Thurston. He was the eldest of seven children. Norm met and fell in love with his wife, Pamela McCullough, on July 4, 1970. They married on April 23, 1972 and remained together for all of his life. Pam was born on May 3, 1960, daughter of Robert and Phyllis (Boruff) Hollers. She married CE Holt on May 14, 1988. Pam was a beautician for 30 years. She co-owned and operated Salon 26 in Bloomington. She was dedicated to her family and a loyal friend to many. She always made those around her feel loved. Pam would go out of her way to make those extra special and personal gifts that often included hand drawn cards and pictures. Slats Klug, a musician, composer and producer, died peacefully in Bloomington, Indiana on Wednesday May 5, 2021, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born Harry Klug Jr., December 13, 1951 in Martinsburg, West Virginia, the son of Ruth Booker Stillman and Harry V. Klug. Given the nickname of Slats at a young age because he was skinny, it stuck with him the rest of his life. His early life was spent in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Owen Morse Busey (23) of Bloomington, Indiana died by suicide on March 3, 2021. Owen suffered from post-concussion syndrome and depression for the past five years. Robert Douglas Fritch, aged 60 years, passed away Sunday January 31, 2021, At IU Health Bloomington Hospital. He was the son of Albert and Carolyn (Snoody) Fritch. Doug was a mechanic most of his life. He retired early because of health issues. He loved to hunt and fish, but gave up both because of his health. Dennis was born in Ogden, Utah, on December 17, 1946, to Porter and Wilda Giles, and raised there with his three brothers and two sisters.
