The son of the late Lloyd and Helen (Quance) Wait, John was born on May 29, 1938 in Petoskey, Michigan. He married Nancy Gillett on December 31, 1960. He then married Linda Fraser in 1991. She predeceased him on January 7, 1999. John was a long-time business owner having originally owned and operated Jack and Jill Nursery with his former wife Nancy before owning and operating a 7-11 franchise in Saginaw where he will be remembered by his 7-11 family for his good business sense and his quick wit.
