A retired laundry-aide, Josie worked at Southbrooke Manor in Edna for over 20 years, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to her profession. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Alexia "Lexie" Muschalek of Edna passed away peacefully on October 13, 2024 at the age of 97. She was born April 2, 1927 in Ganado, Texas to Joe and Millie Surovec. She graduated from high school in 1944 and was married at Assumption Catholic Church on June 15, 1948. Lexie shared 62 wonderful years with Louis, the love of her life. From this union, her three children Debbie, Janice, and Kent were born. While her children were young, they attended St. Agnes Catholic School where Lexie helped the Cordi Marian Sisters, the teachers through the Diocese of San Antonio, with whatever they needed. Weldon Branch Bonnot, 90, passed away Thursday March 21, 2024. Weldon was born July 12, 1933, the youngest of four sons born to Carlos and Eva Jane Sewell Bonnot, a lovely pioneer Jackson County family. Weldon attended LaWard Elementary School and then transferred to Edna High School where he was active in football, basketball, baseball and track.
