Otto Robert Borchers passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, at the age of 94. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he was born on the Peck League Ranch in Lavaca County on March 29, 1931, to Mary Schaeg Borchers and William Menn Borchers. Although he went by many names ? "Dad", "Boss", "Papa", "Mr. B", "Mr. Boo", and "Mr. Jimmy"? he was named Otto at birth after his grandfather and uncle but nicknamed "Jimmie" by his father. Virginia Rose Patek, 92, joined her heavenly family Thursday, December 18, 2025. She was born September 20, 1933, the third child of six children born to the late Frank and Rosie (Pohler) Pavlas and she was the last survivor of the family. She graduated from St. Ludmila High School, Shiner, in 1951 and went onto Baldwin Business College in Yoakum. She married her beloved Johnnie Patek and for the next 63 years they were devoted to raising their eight children to share their Catholic faith, small town values, and the best academic opportunities they could provide. She was born October 14, 1930, in Shiner, TX to the late Louis Anton and Elsie (Linbrugger) Bannert. Hazel married the love of her life, Edmund (E.W.) Pfeil, Jr. and they made their home in Shiner. Hazel worked as an LVN Nurse for 50 years and retired in 1997 from Yoakum Community Hospital. She worked for Wagner Hospital in Shiner, Nix Hospital in San Antonio, Huth Memorial Hospital in Yoakum, and Yoakum Community Hospital. Ronald James Adamek, of Yoakum, Texas, was born on November 30, 1959, to Gilbert and Agnes (Jemelka) Adamek. He passed away on November 23, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones, after courageously battling complications from a double lung transplant he received in mid-September. Ronnie married the love of his life, Maurine Reynolds, on August 8, 1981. Robert (Bob) Clyde Putnam, of Conroe, TX died peacefully on Nov. 21, 2025, with family by his bedside. He was 107. He was born in Bismarck, N.D., June 12, 1918, during the "Spanish Flu Pandemic". He was the third child of Ruth Booher Putnam, and Clyde Chester Putnam who were both educators, his mother, a teacher and his father, a school principal. Clyde abandoned his family when Bob was just 6 months old, leaving his wife to raise Bob & his older brother Kenneth.
