It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lowell Gene Mortensen, who passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, at the age of 85. Lowell was born on January 16, 1940, in Cosmos, Minnesota to Walter and Evelyn Mortensen. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is preceded in death by his wife Patricia Mortensen; daughter Debbie Bremer; sisters Alyce (Mortenson) Olson, Edith (Mortensen) Minnick, Mary (Mortenson) Raitz; and brothers Stanley Mortenson, Lloyd Mortenson, Richard Mortenson, Carroll Mortensen, Darryl Mortensen, Clifford Mortensen, and Jim Mortensen. Marlo Samuelson, 83, of Monticello died on April 7th, 2025. He was born February 26, 1942, to the late Raymond and Olga Samuelson. He was raised in Cokato and graduated from the Cokato High School in 1960. After graduation, he served in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Jean. They moved to Monticello in 1969 where he was a barber for the next 4 decades. She was born to Norvel and Betty Johnson on September 25, 1949 in Park Rapids, MN. She was united in marriage to Richard Alan Hanson on April 15, 1967. Together they raised two sons, Steven and Mark. She worked for many years at Carlson Dolls in Maple Lake and later years in the bakery and deli of Cub Foods in Monticello. Jan loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lois Marie Hultberg was born to Eric and Ella Hultberg on April 19, 1938 on the family dairy farm six miles west of Monticello, MN. Lois joined her Lord and Savior in Heaven on February 25, 2025.
