Verta Grace Howell Bennett, born January 27, 1933, grew up in East Atlanta, a 53 year resident of Conyers, GA, passe away in Newnan, GA on January 3, 2026, at the age of 92. She lived and worked in Atlanta after high school at Avon's headquarters and then J.H. Tull in accounts receivable after which she became a full-time mom. She is preceded in death by her husband John E. Bennett, parents, Cleo McWhorter Howell and Jewell H. Howell and many family members. During his service, he completed a tour in Vietnam, where he carried out reconnaissance flight missions with courage and commitment. Francis Arthur Cooke, 95, of Conyers, Georgia, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025. Born on March 7, 1930, in College Park, Georgia, Francis was the son of the late William and Frances Cooke. At the age of 17, Francis proudly entered the United States Navy, serving during the Korean War. It was in 1947, the same year he enlisted, that he met the love of his life, Colleen ? beginning a partnership that would span 66 wonderful years until her passing. After his military service, Francis built a long and dedicated career with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1989. Lee 'Roy' Wilcox III, Age 73, of Braselton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025.
