Marjorie Ethel Rademan was born on December 11, 1931 in the town of Merton to Arthur and Florence Rademan. She grew up on her parents' farm on Highway K with her older sister and two younger brothers. She attended a one-room schoolhouse at Swallow School and graduated from Hartland High School in 1949.
