She married Jerome "Jeff" Jeffers, he preceded her in death. Janice earned her master's degree in Elementary Education. She retired as a teacher from the Elkhart Community Schools. She volunteered at Elkhart General Hospital where she spent time visiting with patients, the Lerner, she served on the board at the condo where she lived, she enjoyed spending time delivering food to shut in through the Meals on Wheels program.
