Born in Carrolton, Maryland, on March 22, 1929, he was the son of the late Joseph Kenneth and Evelyn Viola (Harris) Long. He was the husband of the late Linda Lee (Schultz) Long for 70 years. He attended Church of the Open Door in Westminster (Maryland) and Northwest Baptist Church in Reisterstown (Maryland) for years.
