Michael Gene Crate of West Lafayette, IN passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Wed., Jan. 26, 2022 at the age of 56. He was born on June 23, 1965 in Okinawa, Japan to Doris (Dougherty) Haire and Milton J. Crate. Michael worked various jobs throughout his life trying to find his niche. He was never afraid to try something new. He was trained by a Master Benihana Chef in teppanyaki cooking. He had worked as the head chef at a Hanayori Restaurant in Mishawaka, IN and most recently he worked at Perry Foam Products in Lafayette where they made sanding and grinding back-up pads. She was born on February 18, 1948 at McDonald Hospital in Warsaw, Indiana to Robert W. and Marjorie D. (Anglin) Gast. Gretchen graduated in 1966 from Warsaw High School and attended Stephens College. On April 22, 1967, she married John H. Hartman who survives. Gretchen was a friendly face at the Warsaw Post Office front desk for many years. Linda Louise Ritchie of Silver Lake passed away surrounded by her family at 8:32 a.m. on Wed., March 11, 2020 at her residence at the age of 73. She was born on September 9, 1946 in South Bend the oldest of five children born to H. Patricia (Gorny) and Richard Eugene Clark who were all of North Liberty.
