Born in Brooklyn, NY, Iris grew up in Stamford and graduated from Stamford High ('46) and the University of Connecticut ('50). Iris was an ordained Elder and Deacon in First Presbyterian Church of Stamford and Sharon Presbyterian Church of Charlotte, NC. She worked in retail advertising in Stamford, NY City, and Charlotte, retiring from Belk Store Services in 1995. Dr. Bertram A. Josephson, known to his family and friends as "Buddy", died on November 7, 2022, at 93 of Parkinson's Disease.
