Michael Gene Mootz, 69, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Dec. 9 at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas. He was born Aug. 23, 1951 in Bellevue, Iowa, son of Oscar and Dorothy Weber Mootz. He married Marilyn S. Weber on June 21, 1980 at the Basilica of St. Francis Xavier, Dyersville. Michael graduated from Marquette High School, Kirkwood Community College, and received his bachelor degree from Upper Iowa University. He was employed as a systems analyst with John Deere, retiring in 2016. The Rev. Kenneth C. Stecher, a priest of the Archdiocese of Dubuque and pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Waterloo, Iowa, died Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines. William James (Bill) Trumpp 70 years old died August 12, 2019, at UnityPoint-Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa from a sudden illness. Bill was born May 7, 1949 in Dubuque, Iowa. Living at home with his family in Dubuque into 1961 and then in Waterloo until his father's death in 1980. He was placed at the Black Hawk Care Facility in February 1981. Bill moved to Country View, now called Pillar of the Cedar Valley, in January 1986, residing there for the rest of his life.
