Born in Lexington, KY, in September of 1946 to EB and Anna Cochran, growing up on their family farm in Lexington, KY, Shirley grew up with a love for horses, sports, Elvis and spending time at the lake, laying the foundation for her lifelong commitment to family, community, and her beloved UK Wildcats. She was a caring wife, mother, and grandmother, born to Barney and Grace Morelock, on November 6th, 1939. Lou was born and raised in Kingsport, Tennessee, where she grew up with several siblings. Louvena graduated valedictorian from Sullivan High School and then went on to pursue her dream of becoming one of the first female Chemistry majors at Berea College of Liberal Arts. Born on Sunday, May 2, 1948 in Harlan County, he was a son of the late Clarence Orville Jeffery, Sr. & the late Doris Velma Helton Thomas. Clarence was a United States Air Force veteran for which he served as an aviation mechanic. He was also an industrial engineer for Panasonic, in Danville.
