Erma Jean Tisdale Brown, 88, wife of Wendell O. Brown, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, after an extended illness. Mrs. Brown was born January 13, 1938, at Workman Crossroads in Williamsburg County, the daughter of the late Henry Lawrence Tisdale and Sallie Ora McCrea Tisdale. She grew up at Workman but also spent many happy years in the Central Community with her grandmother and her aunts and uncles, who doted on her. Mrs. Brown graduated from Kingstree High School in 1955 and from Winthrop College in 1960. She married Wendell in 1961. She taught in the public schools of Florence, Richland, and Williamsburg Counties, and retired from Williamsburg...
