Jane Leslie Tyler, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and physician, drew her last breath on the morning of December 12, 2025, in the company of her children whom she loved with all her heart and soul. She fought a valiant and noble three-year battle against esophageal cancer in which she displayed the determination, resilience and courage that exemplified her life. Not once did she complain, succumb to bitterness or rail against the indiscriminate unfairness of her disease. She was a graduate of The University of Georgia and held professional certifications in Elementary Education and Speech and Language Pathology. While at UGA, a mutual friend introduced her to Marvin Hugh Sears, III. Jerald Wilson Smith passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025 in Charleston, South Carolina after a long battle with dementia. He was born May 23, 1941, in Huntington, West Virginia as the oldest son of Guy and Margaret Smith. Jerry excelled in high school sports as a student at Buffalo High School and was named All-State in Football, Basketball and Baseball in 1958 and 1959.
