Mrs. Josephine Viola Matthews, born April 7, 1938, 85 years old of Brunswick, passed away Saturday November 4, 2023 peacefully after being surrounded by her family. Mrs. Matthews was the wife of the late Mr. James Matthews for over 48 years. She was the daughter of the late John Raymond and Abbey Longerbeam Darr. She leaves behind her son, Mr. Terry Darr and wife Mrs, Nancy Darr of Middletown, two granddaughters, Mrs. Stacey Hoffman and husband Mr. Cliff Hoffman of Knoxville, Mrs. Terri Lewis and husband Mr. Jimmy Lewis of Brunswick. Born on May 29, 1935, Floyd was the son of the late Floyd Preston Goetz Sr. and Virginia Goetz (nee Stambaugh). Floyd served in the United States Army and retired as an E-8 1st Sgt.
