Thomas was a beacon of joy in our community, known for his infectious smile and warm spirit that touched the lives of everyone he met. For 40 years, Tom dedicated himself to the art of barbering, where he not only transformed appearances but also fostered friendships. His chair was a place of laughter, storytelling, and camaraderie. David Clinton Bush, 79, of Donna, TX, departed this life on Friday, August 30, 2024., He was born on June 16, 1945, in Okmulgee, OK, to the late Joseph Clinton Bush and Elizabeth (Johnston) Bush. His current wife Sharla Bush survives. His wife Willie Bush and sister Janet Sharp predeceased him. James Douglas Purl Sr., aka Jimmy, 91 years old, passed away on July 24, 2024 at Valley View Assisted Living and Memory Care in Harlingen, Texas. Jimmy was born on August 16th, 1932 to Henry and Vicky Purl in Mercedes, Texas. He loved playing high school football and was a 1950 graduate of Mercedes High School. After graduation he started delivering milk for Hygeia Dairy Company. It was at Hygeia Dairy that Jimmy met Merry Kay Richards, his beautiful bride and mother of their five children. Lila Jolaine Lanehart, age 73, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024. Jolaine was a devoted educator throughout her life. Upon retiring from 29 years in education, Jolaine volunteered in state and national parks, refuges and with the Rio Grande Valley Chapter Master Naturalists. Aside from volunteering, Jolaine enjoyed world traveling, basket weaving, bird watching, and most recently, golfing. Gary Edward Gurney, age 76, of Harlingen, Texas passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024. Gary was an avid golf player, he loved talking politics, he had a great love for his family, especially his dogs. Gary worked at Detroit Diesel for 30 Years as a sheet metal worker. He retired from Detroit Diesel and moved to Missouri and came to his final home in harlingen.
