PAULINA BETH "POLLY" HUGHES, 89, of Ripley, West Virginia passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025, after a short illness. Born on December 12, 1935, to Dr. Russel Kessel and Pauline Kessel in Charleston, West Virginia, Polly grew up on the West Side of Charleston. She attended Stonewall Jackson High School, where she was a majorette, and graduated in 1953. She went on to attend West Virginia University. While at WVU she was a member and vice president of the Chi Omega sorority and president of Mortar Board. She was a member of several other honorary academic societies and clubs. Nancy Louise (McKinney) Roberts, 89 of Ripley, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 13, 2025, at Brookdale Charleston Gardens in Charleston, WV following a long illness. She was born April 12, 1935, in Wide Mouth, WV, daughter of the late Robert Lee and Nellie B. Davis McKinney. She was a graduate of Herndon High School and operated the House of Glamour Salon in Ripley. In her earlier years she played in softball and basketball leagues. Sattis R. Parsons, 89 of Kenna, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on December 18, 2024 at his home in Kenna following an extended illness. He was born March 15, 1935 in Kenna, WV son of the late Richard and Mamie Casto Parsons. Robert Lee "Bob" Bex, 60 of Sandyville, WV, passed away on November 21, 2014. He was born February 27, 1964 in Muncie, Indiana, son of Robert Bex Sr. and Shirley Rainey Bex. He was a graduate of Ball State University where he played Football, starting on two Raisin Bowl Championship teams, and was inducted into the Delaware County Indiana Football Hall of Fame. Barbara A. Haynes, 90 of Scott Depot, WV, gained her heavenly wings on September 1, 2024. She was a proud graduate of Dunbar High School, Class of 1952.
