Margaret Carpenter Smith, 82, met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face to face on October 22, 2020. With broken hearts, we know that Margaret and her husband, Ben, are dancing in Heaven. Margaret was a native Charlottean and member of the Myers Park High School Class of 1957. It was a joy for Margaret to be with her Mustang classmates. They met regularly for lunch to have fun and fellowship. Margaret graduated from Wake Forest University in 1961 and worked 30 years as a medical technologist, the bulk of her time with Charlotte Medical Clinic. She loved helping patients and doctors. Diane Pinner Vestal, 76, passed away on June 18, 2020 in Charlotte, NC. Diane was born on September 3, 1943 to Brady and Helen Pinner. Diane graduated from Concord High School and attended Meredith College. Her education led her to a career in finance and a thirty plus year career as an accountant with Celanese Corporation. Diane was a member of Myers Park Methodist Church and Forest Hill Church. She was also a leading official of Mariners Wacche of Bricklanding and for many years loved participating in her Women's Club and Book Club. Karen Garner O'Neill, 62, of Charlotte, NC, passed away peacefully at home on June 15, 2020. Born June 12, 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri; Karen grew up in Greensboro, NC before moving to Charlotte. She graduated from Myers Park High School and then spent much of her life in Kearny, NJ before ultimately returning to Charlotte. Sheldon Lang, 88, passed away on June 6, 2020 at his home in Charlotte, NC. He was born on April 10, 1932 to Abe and Rebecca Lang. He was a proud alumnus of Penn State and an Army veteran. Mary Margaret Johnson Netzel passed away peacefully in her home on June 5, 2020, surrounded by the love of her family and the prayers of so many. Fred Lowe, 78, passed away on May 2, 2020, surrounded by family and wonderful caretakers. He grew up in Charlotte and served the city as a firefighter for 28 years, retiring as Captain. Fred also operated a small business, Piedmont Golf Cars in Indian Trail, NC and worked for several years with Festival in the Park. Helen (Virginia) Jordan Woodward died peacefully at home on April 25, 2020 after a long and committed life. She was born on December 7, 1921 in San Antonio, Texas to Ethel Marshall Jordan and Leslie Newton Jordan. After the early death of her mother, she was raised lovingly by her grandparents, Walter N. and Viva Marshall, and her aunt, Maud Alice Marshall. Patricia Goodwin David, 92, passed away on April 25, 2020 after a period of declining health. Her long life was blessed by a happy marriage, loving family and deep faith.
