Oscar Caballero "Porroy" Sanchez was born on a rainy night, October 30th, 1953, in Marfa, Texas to Tomas and Pauline Sanchez. Oscar joined the Lord in heaven on March 22, 2022 after 68 1/2 wonderful years full of life. Edward "Eddie" Lee Lewis Jr. was born in Hobbs, New Mexico on September 25, 1953 to Edward Lee and Gladys (Dickey) Lewis. He went to be with his Lord on January 6, 2022. Services were held earlier this month. Eddie grew up in Odessa, Texas and graduated from Odessa High School in 1972. During this time, he was active in Boy Scouts and earned the Order of the Arrow, God and Country, and his Eagle Scout and took great pride in these accomplishments. Mary Sims McFadin, age 73, passed away peacefully April 6, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 18, 1947 in Alpine, Texas to Robert (Bob) and Pauline Sims. She married John McFadin on November 25, 1965 and shared 55 wonderful years together. Mary and John spent many years in the Comstock and Sanderson area, teaching and working in the local school districts. Fred Douglas Dotson, 83, resident of Alpine, Texas passed away at his residence on Monday, September 21, 2020. Mr. Dotson was born in Stamford, Texas on September 15, 1937. He owned and operated Dotson Nissan from 1969 to 2002. He moved to Alpine with his family at the end of 2002 to "retire" and operate a used car business and storage business. He quit drinking April 25, 1975 and has had 45 years sobriety and the honor of helping many of his fellow alcoholics stop drinking.
