He was born in Richland Township, Ohio on June 14, 1940 to the late Kyle McClellan and Helen Irene (nee Hummer) Vance. Dave served his country in the U.S. Army at Fort Sill Oklahoma as Field Artillery Lieutenant and graduated from The Ohio State University. He was an accountant for multiple trucking companies, as well as other industries both here and in Saudi Arabia. Shirley retired from Medina County Sheltered Industries after 25 years of service. She grew up in the Methodist Church and was a member of the Medina United Methodist Church for 45 years.
