Steven B. Edwards, 48, passed away on January 12, 2025. Born in Akron, he was a resident of Lakemore. He graduated from Springfield High School and served in the Marine Corps. He was a carpenter and enjoyed fishing. Steven was preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Edwards. He is survived by his father, Tim Edwards; brother, Rob Edwards; and companion, Jamie West. Cora E. Peck, 90, passed away on December 24, 2024. Cora was born in Randolph, Ohio on February 25, 1934 to parents John and Grace (Riemenschneider) Shull. She enjoyed a long career at the Coca-Cola Company. She loved to read and was an avid golfer. Cora was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George Peck. Gary H. Carpenter passed away December 18,,2024, from age related illness. He was 89. Gary was born April 12, 1935 in Akron, Ohio, and graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1954 where he was active in sports and the Naval ROTC. After graduating Gary entered active duty in the Navy for two years. Upon his discharge he remained active in the Navy reserves until 1961. After returning from active duty, Gary met and married his wife Janet Carpenter (Ammons). They were married for 66 years until his death. Peter Hirnikl went to be with the Lord on 12/16/24. Peter was born on 3/6/33 in Drenya, Croatia. He survived many hardships as a young boy including hunger and cold as he and his family became refugees in World War II. He lost sight in his right eye due to shrapnel exploding from a fire and was beaten by Russian soldiers. Through all of this he remained strong and accomplished his dream of coming to America in 1955- at 22 years of age. Thelma Louise Stiles, age 92, passed from this life to the next on December 8th, 2024 at Akron City Hospital. Louise was born on May 7, 1932 in Akron, Ohio to the late Samuel Homer Stiles and Rhoda Florence Stiles (Poling). Helen Poor, 98, passed away peacefully on Thursday November 13, 2024. She was born in Akron on December 22, 1925 to Clifford and Alice Alhand. She lived most of her life in Springfield Township and graduated from Springfield High School in 1943. It was there that she met the love of her life Ernie Poor to whom she was married for 65 lively and wonderous years until his death in 2010. Kelvin "Butch" Davern Snyder, 75, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024, in Beckley, WV. He was born on December 5, 2024, in Barberton, Ohio, to Garnie and Frances Snyder, and lived in Springfield Township most of his life. Butch was a graduate of Barberton High School, class of 1967. He honorably served in the US Navy, becoming a respected veteran. After his service, he dedicated 34 years to Wonderbread before retiring in 2007. George F. Klein of Randolph, Ohio, passed away at his home on October 13th. He was 98. George was born on December 16, 1925 to William and Louisa Klein. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's parish, graduating from St. Joseph School in 1940 before moving on to Randolph High School. He was very close to his brothers and sisters, who helped raise him after the death of his mother in 1926 and his father in 1938.
